CSC LAUNCHES MOVEMENT “DONATE PMSYM” AND TAKE INITIATIVES FOR PROVIDING 20 LAKH EMPLOYMENT IN THE COUNTRY
CSC SPV has launched new movement in the country-“Donate PMSYM”. 3.2 lakh VLEs across the country are organizing group of workers working in various houses and requesting the owners to donate PMSYM for these helpers. CSCs will enable 40 Cr unorganized sector workers to avail PMSYM by organizing camps, group discussions and house to house awareness programs. This would cover rickshaw pullers, 3 wheeler drivers and farm workers beside other hawkers, shop keepers tailors, barbers, MGNREGA workers, Anganwadies and ASHA workers.
In a workshop conducted at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, on April 5th, 2019, about 2000 CSC VLEs pledged to launch the movement donate PMSYM in their concerned areas. They also pledged to donate themselves for 5-10 people who work in their centre or support their families.
The day-long event discussed the progress made by the CSC operators – the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) in implementation of PMSYM, Economic Survey and Financial Inclusion services in Delhi and adjoining areas.
Shri Sanjay Goel, Joint Secretary-MeitY said, “I believe, CSC is an amazing organization, playing significant role for the welfare of marginalized communities. The capabilities of VLEs are enormous. Everybody in government and private sector is trying to reach the last mile with the help of CSCs. CSC is the future of the nation.”
While delivering address on “PMSYM: A Unique Initiative”, Shri Ajay Tiwari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, and DG, Labour Welfare said, “PMSYM is a national flagship scheme, aims to provide social security for 42 crore people in un-organized sector. CSC is like nerve system in this country. We will reach to unreached in this country with the help of CSC VLEs. We would utilize the CSC network for implementation of other schemes of the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry has to provide unique identification number-Shram Yogi Number, for all the unorganized sector persons by 30th June, as per the Supreme Court directions. We would take CSC support in enabling the same.”
Ms. RM Vishakha, CEO-IndiaFirst said, “CSCs are providing quality services in rural India in a commendable way. CSC SPV and IndiaFirst have common vision for rural India. And to achieve the goals of financial inclusion, we have launched IndiaFirst Life CSC Insurance Khata that is a unique offering to enable the rural citizens to avail insurance benefits.”
While delivering address on ‘Economic Census through CSCs’ Shri Pankaj Srivastava, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, said, “In Economic Census, VLEs have to reach people to collect data. We consider 7th Economic Census through CSC, a change project for the welfare of the country. Census is very important and we changed our old model to take benefits of expertise and vast infrastructure of CSCs. The real time data is very important for the policy formulation for the government which would be supported through this unique initiative.”
While welcoming the participants to the workshop, Dr. Dinesh Tyagi, CEO, CSC SPV said, “Today, 3.20 lakh CSCs are providing plethora of services at the doorsteps of the citizens. We have created ICT enabled rural enterprises in the country.” Dr. Tyagi added, “PMSYM scheme is unique scheme, easy to implement and being implemented exclusively through CSCs. ‘Donate One PMSYM’ is our movement. We are working on all the services for rural people towards building empowered and digitally inclusive society. Some of our VLEs already contributed in this ‘Donate PMSYM” initiative. We have requested the ministry to consider some changes in PMSYM to further simplify it’s implementation and take promotion initiatives. Unique Shram Yogi Number, Economic Census, making CSCs as BC by
HDFC will open new opportunities for growth and promotion of CSCs in the country. Around 20 lakh people will get employment through these initiatives.”
On the occasion, 6 CSC VLEs- Chandan Bala, Misba Hasmi, Dinesh Sikka, Rahul, Babita and Devnder Sharma were awarded for their outstanding performance in PMSYM

Common Service Centre has to play a significant role in Digital India initiatives of the government. In FY 2019, 25,000 enrollments in CSC-Insurance Khata is a big achievement. CSC rural entrepreneurs have the ability to revolutionize India by empowering rural citizens and providing opportunities to access various government and other services.
